2021 Lehi Heritage Day Honoree Nomination Form

Honorees of Past Years

Put on by Lehi City and the Lehi Historical Society and Archives, Heritage Day celebrates Lehi’s finest contributors today as well as our city’s impressive past.

“We invite everyone to submit nominations for people who have given a lot to our community,” said Lara Bangerter, director of the Archives. “In the past, we’ve honored Scout leaders, sports coaches and directors, rodeo volunteers, program creators, Roadshow directors, foster parents, police officers and beloved musicians. Every talent under the sun is appreciated at Lehi Heritage Day.”

A list of past honorees can also be found at LehiHistory.com. Forms should be emailed to lehihistory@gmail.com or delivered to the Lehi Historical Society and Archives at 34 E. 100 N. Lehi, UT 84043. Nominations must include a living nominee who will attend the celebration day.

Honorees ride in the Lehi Heritage Day Showcase Parade and are celebrated in a special program with the mayor and city council members. Honorees are also highlighted with a display, created by the family, during Heritage Day and in a newspaper article previous to the event. Finally, honorees are distinguished with their own brick in the Walk of Fame Garden in front of the Legacy Center at 123 N. Center.

“Although honorees are often shy about being honored, it always ends up being a really good thing,” said Bangerter. “Friends and family come to congratulate them, and they end up seeing and talking with people they haven’t seen in years. It’s really quite wonderful.”

Only four nominees will be chosen this year by the historical society board, which votes on the nominations, as there are eight honoree couples/individuals from last year to also be feted.

The theme for this year’s event, which is in its eighth year, will revolve around entertainment in Lehi in the 1960s. Heritage Day includes the Showcase Parade, Honoree Celebration, honoree displays, exhibits and activities revolving around the year’s theme, homemade hamburgers and a classic car show.
